Step One
Task: Research about documentaries, watch documentaries to get an understanding of them. Date due: January 8, 2012
Process: I researched on a few documentaries and watched only one in particular which was Hoop Dreams. I got a basic understanding of how a documentary is and began to start my brainstorm for my own documentary.
This video is the first part of a documentary called Hoop Dreams. I looked at this video because it help me take in the concept of how the video is made. Alchemistkx was the user on YouTube who uploaded this video.
Step Two
Task: Figuring out the topic for my documentary.
Date due: January 24, 2012
Process: I was away for a week leaving me with less time for my documentary and I had to catch up. I hadn’t had a topic yet and I couldn’t really think of one. Mr. Holmes showed me an example of Clotilde’s version of a mind map and how it should be kind of like that. Chloe gave me a topic which was ‘Girls Self – Obsession’ I thought I it was a great idea because it wasn’t a very narrow of broad topic and my research wouldn’t be as hard as I thought it would. This took me about three periods of class time to get my topic going with the mind map.
Step Three.
Task: To start my annotated bibliography
Date due: January 26, 2012 through the month of February
Process: Today, I began my annotated bibliography. I started with my video montage and what pictures I am going to put with the captions at the bottom. So far all the pictures I found are mostly from girls Tumblr page.
Examples:
- I used most of my pictures from her blog, it had a lot of meaning that girls could really relate to and I thought that it would be good for my intro of my documentary.
- I used most of her make up and clothes pictures for my evidence in parts of my documentary. It made my research for pictures easier and also the pictures she uploads are really great pictures that goes well with my topic.
I then set out to find questions that I could ask for my man on the street questions
The cite is about question quizzes and they are all in a different category. This allowed me to help me pick questions that could potentially be in my documentary. It does not say who created the website.
Step Four
Task: Outlined written version of my Documentary
Date due: January 27, 2012
Process: we have to come up with a outline of our documentary, how many mins of each part. Just general bullet points and timings to refer to while making the documentary.
Step Five
Task: Man on the street takings. This week I would want to accomplish my man on the street video shots
and since I am gone to Mumbai for the rest of the week, I plan to ask others around me in another city- Mumbai.
Date due: February 19 - February 25 2012
Process: I did not have anytime to go around asking people my questions for my documentary due to the work given in Flat Classroom. I had also completely forgot about it which made me panic even more when I came back because I felt like I was behind again and I needed to push myself even more further to get it done on time and if possible earlier.
Step Six
Task: Putting my video together
Date due: February 26 – march 15, 2012
Process: throughout the month of February and march I began to work on my documentary day and night. I did not use my outline which changed throughout the time we had because I decided to not do voice over and let my documentary be a full on video montage and archival footage. This meant that the interviews I did were just texts and music as well with in between pictures related to the text. I interview people who were in my class during class time which made it more easier for me.

· The way she fishes for compliments even though the guy knows that in his eyes she will always be the most beautiful thing on this earth.
· The way she smiles
this video was uploaded by a couple of students, mainly guys about 10 things boys hate about girls. They reenact all those 10 things. Which makes the video even more funny. I put this video in my documentary because I wanted to have a different perspective, and this seemed really good for my documentary. Uploaded by courtneycortz.
this video is uploaded by squezzz, a teenage guy that talks about girls and wearing makeup. He talk about what guys think about makeup and his opinion on it. I put this on my documentary as well because I thought it would be nice for girls could see that sometimes guys don’t care about makeup.
